Adele Bernhard

Adele Bernhard began practicing law in 1977 as a public defender with The Legal Aid Society in the South Bronx and since then has devoted her career to criminal justice issues. She taught at Pace Law School for twenty years, where she started a Criminal Defense Clinic, and taught skills and professional responsibility. She is now an adjunct professor at New York Law School directing a Post-Conviction Innocence Clinic. In addition to teaching criminal law, litigation skills and professional ethics and values, she writes on criminal law and works to improve the criminal justice system.
