John Dumey is the Innocence Network’s organizational development specialist. Before coming onboard, he managed law firm membership giving, foundation fundraising, and elected official discretionary funding at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, a nonprofit law firm focusing on health justice, disability rights, and environmental justice. Prior to that, John served as the development and marketing manager at Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a tenant advocacy and homeownership education organization in Brooklyn. John, who has spent the past twelve years in the nonprofit sector, also has a background in educational access and leadership development of young men and women of color, having spent five years working with two organizations working to expand access to high-quality educational opportunities. John received his B.A. in History from Connecticut College and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Nonprofit Management at The New School’s Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy.
