Leslie Ann Gerardo is the Chief of the Special Proceedings Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia. In that position, she oversees litigation of all post-conviction matters in both federal and local courts in D.C. She also has played an integral role in the creation of the office’s Conviction Integrity Unit in 2014 and currently oversees the work of that unit. She previously has served in both the appellate and trial divisions of the USAO, as training director at the USAO, as an associate at Steptoe & Johnson, as a criminal defense lawyer, and as a law clerk to the Honorable Ronald P. Wertheim of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Leslie Ann received her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1984, and her law degree, summa cum laude, from the American University, Washington College of Law.
