Lisa Kavanaugh is the director of the CPCS Innocence Program, a unit of the Massachusetts public defender agency. In addition to litigating innocence cases and administering the Innocence Program, she is also actively involved in developing statewide training programs on forensic evidence. In 2013, she formed a working group of criminal justice leaders that focuses on developing statewide best practices for evidence handling and storage. She serves on the Executive Board of the Innocence Network and on its Ethics & Best Practices and Membership Committees. Lisa joined CPCS in 2002 as a staff attorney in the trial unit, and worked in the appeals unit from 2007-09. She graduated from Yale University and Harvard Law School.
