Sara LaCava Lieberman joined the Innocence Project in 2015 as a development specialist with the Network Support Unit where she supports Innocence Network members in their fundraising and growth. Prior to joining the Innocence Project, Sara spent over three years as the development officer for individual giving at the National Network of Abortion Funds. In addition to her primary responsibility to raise money from individual donors, Sara provided fundraising support to NNAF's network of close to 100 grassroots abortion funds nationwide. Sara earned her B.A. in Political Science from Vassar College, where she also spent four years working in the Development Office. After graduation she worked in New York City lobbying for various social services including affordable childcare, youth shelter services, public green space, and civil legal services.
