Sonja Gerrard is a 3L at the University of Washington School Of Law and has been working in the Innocence Project Northwest Clinic since the beginning of her 2L year. Prior to returning to school she was an assistant professor in the Schools of Public Health and Medicine at the University of Michigan. She also worked as a post-doctoral scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. Her research was focused on uncovering the genetic determinants of virulence and genetically engineering vaccine strains for various hemorrhagic fever viruses. Sonja holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon Department of Chemistry.
